Schellers Unveiling New DCB M37R At Lake Cumberland Poker Run

Just four weekends ago, Greg Scheller drove a DCB Performance Marine M37R Widebody catamaran owned by good friends on the Ohio River. Urged by his buddies Kelly O’Hara and Kiran Pinisetti, Scheller took the wheel of their 37-footer called Cowboy & Indian after Saturday’s lunch run to a small, late-afternoon raft-up during the Rock The River Fun Run in Cincinnati. Even when the cross-chop got a bit lumpy, he did a fine job handling the twin Mercury Racing 500R outboard-engine catamaran.

The guy has skills—and the humility and respect for the machine required to make the most of them.

Greg and Heather Scheller’s new boat is among DCB’s most elegant M37R creations to date.

Of course, it wasn’t his first time behind the wheel of a high-performance cat—far from it. Scheller and his wife, Heather, who live in Lexington, Ky., once owned a DCB M35 Widebody catamaran powered by pair of 1,100-hp Mercury Racing sterndrive engines as well as an F32 cat from the Phoenix-based company. Most recently, the couple owned a 34-foot Victory catamaran that they sold to high-performance marine insurance and finance man Devin Wozencraft.

Details, details.

It also wasn’t the first time he’s spent time in Cowboy & Indian. Not long after the 37-footer was used in the June 2023 unveiling of the 500R outboard in Charleston, S.C., Scheller caught a ride with Pinisetti and O’Hara in the cat. Though he had ordered his own M37R in 2022, experiencing the cat for the first time with twin 500-hp outboards made him even more of a believer.

“One, it had the acceleration I wanted,” he recalled. “Two, it had the fit and finish, which as a DCB owner I already knew it would.”

Now the Schellers have an elegant M37R of their own. They took delivery of the DCB creation last weekend and ran the cat yesterday ahead of this weekend’s Lake Cumberland Poker Run in Kentucky. They plan to run it again today, as well as in tomorrow’s main event, alongside their friends in Cowboy & Indian. (The Schellers and the Pinisetti’s even took Shaun Torrente’s high-performance catamaran-driving course together.)

The eight-seater is called Movin’ Silence.

This new 37-footer is the third DCB catamaran the Schellers have owned.

“My son came up with that name,” Scheller recalled. “It’s about moving through the crowd. Nobody knows who you are and you’re not looking for attention. The boat—the art—gets the attention all by itself.”

Transitioning from a twin-engine, 35-foot catamaran that had more power in one engine than both in his new 37-footer wasn’t difficult for the couple. Their son is married, their oldest daughter is graduating college and her sister is in her second college year. The more is right for a more-versatile and spacious boat.

Close friends in DCB 37R ownership, the Schellers and Pinisettis are making memories this weekend in Kentucky.

“That’s where Heather and I are in our lives,” he explained. “This boat will allow us to go to different events and experience different places. I’ve been fast—my M35 would run 160 mph. This boat will run close to 130 mph and I really like the way it handles with the full tunnel.

“Plus, it’s an eight-seater,” he continued. “We have room for our kids, spouses and boyfriends. My son and his wife are coming to Lake Cumberland.

Scheller paused for a moment.

“This Saturday will be huge for our family,” he added.
