Rocky Top Power Run Pushes 2025 Dates Forward

Despite rainy weather and schedule conflicts with other events, the 2024 Rocky Top Power Run on Tennessee’s Lake Norris attracted an estimated 135 boats. The event shared dates with the Rock The River Charity Fun Run in Ohio and the Lake Champlain Poker Run in Vermont.

Plus, it happened the weekend before the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout and its full week of associated daily activities on and off the Central Missouri waterway.

Second-year organizer Matt Rogers knows that while the weather is out of his hands, the dates for his event are not. So the 2025 version is scheduled for August 7-9, a full week earlier than last year’s event.

“Although our turnout last year exceeded expectations, our date conflicted with other events,” Rogers said. “So we started working with everyone after the run last year to make sure we don’t have any major conflicting runs for our sponsors and attendees for 2025.”

The 2025 event will include a street party, a welcome celebration and dinner for sponsors and participants, two days of “power runs” on Lake Norris and a “grand finale” including poker-hand play and a live auction.
