Renegade Ready To Demo And Display Three New Center Consoles In Key West
Building upon last year’s showcase in Key West, Fla., during the Florida Powerboat Club’s Key West Poker Run, Renegade Powerboats is planning to showcase two center consoles in Poker Run Village next to the Conch Republic Seafood Company and have another new model in the water in front of the restaurant that serves as event headquarters for the club throughout next week’s 32nd annual poker run.

According to Renegade dealer Randy Kent of RK Motorsports, Manny Oses, the owner and founder of the Hialeah, Fla.-based company, is going to have his new personal 38’ Open luxury performance center console on display at the docks and available for demo rides.
Kent, who said the two boats on land will be a new 33’ Open (below) and a new 38’ Open (above) that he recently delivered to an Iowa-based customer during the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Missouri, is going to be a busy man next week. When his time and attention aren’t being soaked up by the Union Internationale Motonautique Class 1 XINSURANCE team that will be racing next Wednesday, Friday and Sunday in the Race World Offshore-produced Key West Offshore World Championships, Kent is going to be over at Poker Run Village keeping up with the Renegade side of things.
The driver of the XINSURANCE-backed 45-foot MTI catamaran who runs with throttleman Brit Lilly, Kent is no stranger to wearing multiple hats while in Key West. He’s done it before and he’s in an even better position thanks to his competitive Class 1 team that’s been testing for a couple of weeks and the impressive lineup of models coming out of the Renegade factory, including a new 42’ Open that should be in the water early next year.
“We’re excited to be able to provide demo rides in Key West this year,” said Kent, adding that interested customers can contact the factory or him to set up a test ride. “The new 38 with triple Mercury Racing 500Rs that we delivered back in August is going to turn some heads in the Poker Run Village. It’s a beautiful boat. The new 33 with triple V10 400R engines also is a gorgeous boat. Of course, either me, Manny or the rest of our team will be happy to provide information on the new 42’ Open.
“Currently RK Motorsports has a 33, a 38 and a 42, which are all in the middle of production, that are inventory boats,” he added. “Those boats should be ready in the spring, so if anyone wants one, I’d recommend reaching out soon. The 33 is getting triple 400R V10s, as is the 38. And then we have a 42 with quad 400Rs. That one will be our first 42.”
Kent said that Renegade currently has three 42-footers in production and that the new model is going to be priced to sell at less than $1 million—$899,000 is his exact goal (minus paint).
“In my opinion, there’s nothing like a Renegade on the market when it comes to quality and value,” Kent stated, adding that Renegade is in a fortunate position without any debt or much overhead. “The Renegades are so well built and so well equipped—people are really going to take note with the 42. I think that boat is going to raise some eyebrows, I really do. There will be people who think, ‘Wow, I can get a 42-foot boat for less than a million bucks and not have to sacrifice the quality and features that other boats I’m considering have to offer?’ I can’t wait to see how people react to it.”
