Registration Opens Tomorrow For Boyne Thunder And 1,000 Islands Charity Runs
Two of summer’s hottest go-fast boating events, the Boyne Thunder Poker Run in Boyne City, Mich., and the 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run in Clayton, N.Y., open general registration tomorrow. Based on prior history, both events will fill quickly.

Registration for the 1,000 Islands Charity event set for July 16-19 opens Saturday at noon. Presented for the first time by DCB Performance Marine, the weekend-long happening primarily benefits Make-A-Wish of Central New York and the Community Wellness Program at River Hospital in nearby Alexandria Bay.
Limited to 120 slots—60 of which have already gone to event sponsors—the July 11-12 Boyne Thunder Poker Run opens Saturday at 9 a.m. The event has been known to sell out shortly after it opens.
“Online registration will be through Eventbrite and we highly recommend using a computer,” said Ingrid Day, Boyne Thunder’s events coordinator.
Proceeds from the Boyne Thunder benefit two programs for children, locally based Challenge Mountain and Camp Quality Michigan.
