Registration Open For Fort Myers Offshore Turkey Run To Gracious Venue
Registration for the Fort Myers Offshore Turkey Run to the Riviera Bar and Grill in Punta Gorda, Fla., opens today. The Turkey Run is the second event of the nonprofit scholarship fundraising club’s 2024/2025 season, and based on the popularity of the venue it’s likely to be attract a solid fleet.

“It’s a great venue and one of our favorite runs,” said Amanda Gardner of Cape Coral, who will run with her husband, Don, in their 36-foot Skater catamaran currently powered by outboard engines. “The owners are so welcoming. Plus, we’ll be supporting, Neal Kirby our bestie and new Fort Myers Offshore board-member, in his new role.
“Let’s see if Kirby gets his boat out or runs with us,” she added, then laughed.
For good reason, the Riviera Bar and Grill had earned most-favored-destination status for the Fort Myers Offshore group by the end 2023/2024 season. Its popularity began when club president Tim Hill “discovered” the venue in January after a planned destination dropped out at the last minute.
Hill was in dire need of a lunch location, and the owners of the establishment were more than happy to accept the group. The venue was such a hit with members of the nonprofit scholarship fundraising organization that it hosted the 2023/2024 season finale in April.
The Riviera Bar and Grill has been embraced by the Fort Myers Offshore faithful.
Tucked away on Alligator Creek, the venue was “hit hard,” by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, according to Hill. But the place is up and running—and will be ready for the Fort Myers Offshore crowd at the end of the month.
Said Hill, “They just added another 100 feet of floating dock and have made special Fort Myers Offshore polo shirts for their staff.”
