In the News: Racer Interviews To Rock Live Sports Radio Broadcast In Key West
–>
A couple of longtime fans of speedonthewater.com, especially when it comes to coverage of the annual offshore world championships that descend upon their hometown of Key West, Fla., Todd Swofford and Rick Lopez of “The Zone” 97.7 FM Sports Radio will once again be broadcasting live from the Sandbar Sports Grill on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Offshore racers Shaun Torrente and John Tomlinson will be among those interviewed during the live 97.7 FM Sports Radio hosted by Rick Lopez and Todd Swofford before the ninth annual Speed On The Water “Racing To Rebuild Bash” presented by CMR Construction and Roofing. But this time around, we thought we’d give them a little extra work to do during their two-hour radio show at the Sandbar, which also is the host venue for that evening’s annual Speed On The Water “Racing To Rebuild” Key West Bash presented by CMR Construction and Roofing. So we assembled a bucket-list group of relevant interview subjects in that week for the American Power Boat Association/Union Internationale Motonautique Offshore World Championships produced by Race World Offshore.
Here’s is a quick list of those subjects and the planned interview schedule:*
5 p.m.—Shaun Torrente and Steve Soule of CMR Construction and Roofing
5: 20 p.m.—Tyler Miller and Myrick Coil of M CON
5:40 p.m.—Taylor Scism and John Tomlinson of the TS Motorsports team
6 p.m.—Steve Curtis and Brit Lilly of Huski Chocolate
6:20 p.m.—Larry Bleil of Race World Offshore and Mark Waddington of Performance Boat Center
6:40 p.m.—Reese Langheim and Ricky Maldonado of the Jackhammer Team.
6:55 p.m.—Speedonthewater.com co-publisher Matt Trulio and Mercury Racing general manger Stuart Halley
*The above schedule is approximate.
The best part, at least for those who won’t be in Key West, that evening? They don’t have to be there to enjoy the program.
“Though the live show from the Sandbar and all the race coverage is on The Zone 97.7 FM Sports Radio, it also is available on iHeartRadio/Podcast for mobile apps,” said Swofford.
Entering its ninth year, the Speed On The Water Key West Bash is raising money, primarily through a live auction, for Key West-based Samuel’s House and the #WeAreFMB Resilient fund established by the Fort Myers Beach Women’s Club and the Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation.
