Race World Offshore Releasing ‘Championship’ Bourbon For 2025 Key West Event

Even though the first green flag of the 2024 Key West Offshore World Championships won’t fly for six days, Race World Offshore principals Larry Bleil and Rodrick Cox are already planning for the 2025 races with today’s official pre-release of their own nine-year-old straight Kentucky bourbon dubbed Championship. Offshore racing fans with a taste for the spirit can pre-order it now ahead of next year’s Key West event, which will include a bottle-signing party on November 1, 2025.

The whiskey will be labeled under the “Larrick Duval” brand, which Bleil and Cox are launching in collaboration with the Conch Republic group.

“In the wild chaos of offshore boat racing, it was exciting to create something fun and launch a brand and Kentucky bourbon,” Cox said. “Larry and I felt ‘Championship’ was a fitting name for the collectible spirit. And not just that, it’s been aged for nine years and is really smooth.

“Whether you’re at the races or on the porch, Larrick Duval Championship Straight Kentucky Bourbon is the perfect companion for those who dare to live fast and drink slow,” he added, then chuckled.

“I’ve always liked a good bourbon,” Bleil said. “Having a chance to create something fun and seeing it served in bars and restaurants in Key West next year is going to make it even better.”

Bleil and Cox are expecting the first run of their spirit to quickly sell out, and as such are urging those interested to reserve their bottles for 2025 now. Buyers can either have bottles shipped directly to their homes (where legally allowable) or pick it up during the bottle-signing celebration next November. Each bottle will come with a certification of authenticity.
