Pro Class 1 And Super Cat Release 2025 Schedules

With three American Power Boat Association member-organizations—the most recent being Professional Racing Offshore, as reported yesterday—able to produce and promote APBA-sanctioned events, offshore racers won’t lack for opportunities to accrue APBA national championship points next season. Both the Pro Class 1 and Super Cat-class team owners groups released their schedules this week.

Here’s a quick look at each event-roster by date, location and producer/promoter.

“It looks like we will have eight teams next season,” said Randy Scism, the founder of MTI and the Pro Class 1 owners’ group representative who is fielding a team in the category next season. “The schedule looks pretty solid and all the owners voted.”

The Pro Class 1 group will use a drop-race format, meaning teams can drop their worse result and national points will be based on six races.

Super Cat

The Super Cat schedule includes three races in the Midwest from July through August.

May 17-18—Cocoa Beach, Fla. (Powerboat P1 USA)
June 21-22—Lake Ozark, Mo. (Professional Racing Offshore)
July 12-13—Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Race World Offshore)
August 1-3—Michigan City, Ind. (Race World Offshore)
August 8-10—Sheboygan, Wis. (Powerboat P1 USA)

September 26-27—Clearwater, Fla. (Race World Offshore)
November 2-9—Key West, Fla. (Race World Offshore/APBA World Championships)

The Super Cat class also will use a drop-race format, meaning teams can drop their worse result and national-championships points will be based on seven races.

“Other races can be added by teams, but not for points” explained Win Farnsworth, the Super Cat-class owners’ representative. “Our team, for example, is adding the St. Clair River Classic.”

Said throttleman Billy Moore of the Super Cat Graydel team and Defalco Pro Class 1 teams, “I think it’s a pretty good schedule of races.”

The largest group of owners in spec-racing, as opposed to Bracket-class competiton, the Super Stock group is tabulating votes for the 2025 season schedule. Representative Ryan Beckley said the group should release its schedule early next week. Mod V-class owners rep Stephen Kildahl also confirmed that his group should release its plans soon.
