Port Huron Museum to Host Michigan Lighthouse Conference
The Port Huron Museum will host the upcoming Michigan Lighthouse Alliance Conference April 21-23, 2024. The three-day conference unites lighthouse lovers and experts from around the country, and includes workshops, networking and VIP tours of Fort Gratiot Light Station and Huron Lightship.
“We’re really excited for this because two of our sites are lighthouses,” says Port Huron Museum Community Engagement Manager Andrew Kercher, reports aol.com. “We have the oldest lighthouse in the state at Fort Gratiot. It’s coming to be 200 years old in 2029, which is a really cool mark for not only the city, but lighthouses as a whole.”
This year’s theme is “Be the Beacon: Connecting With and Guiding Your Community.” The event will kick off on April 21 with a social evening at Port Huron Carnegie Center. The last day to register for the conference — which happens in a different city every two years — is April 8. Registration costs $165 and includes all activities and meals for the conference.
To register, visit the event page from the Port Huron Museum’s Facebook.
