Performance Powerboats P420 Catamarans Bring Heat To The Sunshine State
The co-owner of Performance Boat Center headquartered in Osage Beach, Mo., Brett Manire spent last much of last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday taking would-be buyers for demo rides in a Performance Powerboats P420 catamaran. The three-day, by-appointment only demo event held by Mercury Racing in conjunction with the Miami International Boat Show was based out of Grove Harbour in Coconut Grove. Like the rest of the drivers representing various sport cat and center console brands, Manire stayed busy.

But the twin Mercury Racing 500R outboard engine-powered cat—hull No. 5—wasn’t the only P420 making waves with a Performance Boat Center man on board last week in Florida. On Saturday, the multi-brand dealership’s Myrick Coil joined P420 catamaran owner Garry Robertson and his wife, Nancy, for the Fort Myers Offshore lunch run to the Naples Hyatt House. Robertson took delivery of the 42-footer—hull No 4—during the 2024 Florida Powerboat Club Key West Poker Run in November.
“We had a couple of loose ends we wanted to take care of for Garry,” Manire explained. “Myrick was down getting both P280 ready for the Keys Island Runners event next weekend and he took the time to go hang out with Garry.
The Saturday run from the Sanibel Island Bridge to Naples was Coil’s first experience with the Fort Myers Offshore group, and he enjoyed it.
“It was nice, really well-organized,” he said. “And Garry and Nancy really love their new boat.”

Next up for the P420 Grove Harbour demo cat, as well as a Sunsation 32 CCX center console and at least one of the P280 cats, is this Thursday’s Florida Powerboat Club Miami Boat Show Poker Run.
Performance Boat Center recently completed paintwork on the sixth, P420. Hull and deck No. 7 are seventh in lamination.
Added Manire, “Hull No. 6 will our new demo boat.”
