Outer Reef’s Adventure 540

Fresh on the heels of Outer Reef’s Adventure 780 announcement, the long-range, high-efficiency specialists just announced a second addition to their new Adventure series: the 540. Keeping with the design mission of the 780, that was announced last year, the 540 will offer a 2,000NM cruising range, powered by a pair of Volvo Penta D8-600 (600-horsepower) diesels.
The three-stateroom, two-head build makes for a shorter cruising range (again, at ECO speed) than the 780’s 3000NM on twin Cummins QSB 425s, but should offer higher speeds.
What’s more intriguing for shallow-water cruisers: The 56-foot, 5-inch explorer should draw just 4 feet: Not bad for three staterooms (including a full-beam midship master suite), two heads and a flybridge.
All in all it’s a slightly smaller package with a quicker step that looks like it will be a worthy sibling to the 780.
