OPA Moves Nationals To Englewood Beach, Pushes Miami Event To 2025
Originally scheduled for October 4-6 as the Offshore Powerboat Association National Championships, the Miami Grand Prix is being postponed until 2025. The OPA National titles will be decided Saturday, November 16, during the first day of competition at the Englewood Beach Waterfest event in Southwest Florida. OPA teams will vie for world-championship honors on Sunday, November 17, in the same venue.

Points accumulated Saturday and Sunday will count toward 2024 world titles.
The news was announced in a press release this morning from the New Jersey-based race-producing organization.
“The decision to postpone was made after careful consideration by the OPA team,” Nick Smith of OPA stated in the release. “With the date shifting from September to October and the increasing congestion of late-season schedules, it became clear that holding the event in 2024 would not do justice to the prestigious Miami location.”
Set on the Gulf of Mexico, the Englewood Beach venue has been known to dish up rough water.
The new dates for OPA’s inaugural Miami event next year will be confirmed later this month, according to the release.
“We appreciate the understanding and support of our fans, teams, and sponsors as we make this adjustment,” Smith added. “We are confident that the 2025 Miami Offshore Grand Prix will be an unforgettable event, and we look forward to sharing the details very soon.”
