Nor-Tech Completes New Cape Coral Facility
Created primarily for construction of the 390 Sport—the flagship model in a high-performance center-console line that includes offerings from 34 to 56 feet long—Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats has finished a 30,000-square-foot, stand-alone addition to its Cape Coral, Fla., home-base. The new production-space is in the same industrial park as main facility, which makes them a short work from one another.
The popularity of Nor-Tech’s 390 Sport center console drove the facility expansion.
“Expansion for us was inevitable,” said Trond Schou, the co-founder and president of the company. “Our backlog of orders and new sales are still very strong, and we are doing what we can to deliver the ordered boats to our loyal clients in a timely manner.”
Nor-Tech currently employs more than 200 people and, is the largest manufacturer in Cape Coral. Though increasing production and efficiency drove the expansion, Schou and his management team believe it will create workforce benefits.
“We are constantly hiring and we are excited about the opportunity this new building will give us—the space alone is a huge win,” he explained. “By adding another brand-new facility, we hope to attract more qualified employees who not only want to work for the best center-console builder in the high-performance powerboat market, but do it in one of the finest new facilities.”

“Between new-boat deliveries and sales, this year is off to a great start,” he continued. “We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings. And with this new space, I feel we are in for another record year.”
Schou paused, then added, “We love building boats in Cape Coral, and we love the entire Cape Coral community.”
