In the News: Nor-Tech Coming Full Force To Fort Lauderdale Show

When the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show kicks off this Thursday, it will be one month to the day that Hurricane Ian first made landfall in Cuba and—just one day later—hammered Southwest Florida. Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats has operations in Cape Coral and Fort Myers, both hard-hit areas, yet managed to escape catastrophic damage to its facilities. Still, the clean-up chores, combined with immediate efforts to support the local community, were significant for the Nor-Tech team.

And yet, according to dealer manager Geoff Tomlinson, the company is still “bringing its A-game”—plus a half-dozen new boats—to the South Florida show.

“We saw the clean-up process from a very different perspective,” said Tomlinson. “The teams at both facilities were very eager to get everything back to normal as possible and resume building boats.

“Everyone showed up to help when it was all clear to do so,” he continued. “We also had loads and loads of supplies to hand out to anyone in need. It truly was amazing to see what a tight group we have and the generosity toward each other.”

The company’s in-water display will include 390 Sport, 400 SS and 500 Sport center consoles, as well as a 460 Flyer sportboat. Inside the convention center, Nor-Tech will showcase its angling-dressed 392 and 452 models.

Tomlinson said that no one at Nor-Tech ever viewed skipping the Fort Lauderdale event as an option.

“Being at the show is important to us, our employees and our clients,” he said. “And this year, it’s also a good opportunity to thank everyone for their support when they stop by the booth.”
