Nor-Tech At 35—The Lady In Red, Part II

After Wisconsin’s Red Reynolds sold the original Lady Lisa, Nor-Tech’s breathtaking 80 Roadster sport yacht a few years back, he needed something new from the Cape Coral, Fla., company to run at his second home in Southwest Florida. But Reynolds, as you might glean from the first Lady Lisa Nor-Tech, tends to go for the exceptional rather than the average.

Though a tad shorter than the original, the second Lady Lisa is every bit as spectacular as the first. Photo by Pete Boden copyright Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.

So some 12 years after he ordered the 80-footer, he commissioned Nor-Tech to build the first 55 Flyer, which is powered by four 600-hp V-12 outboard engines from Mercury Marine.

Seeing no need to break from a fine family tradition, he dubbed the 55-footer the Lady Lisa after his daughter.

The 2023 model-year build was so spectacular that Speed On The Water showcased it in the tri-fold section of its 2023 Year In Review Print issue.

With the newest Lady Lisa, Reynolds now has the ultimate day-boat—and one that tops out at 80 mph. The boat has endless open space and seating. And yet designer Nils Johnsen saved enough space in the interior layout for a comfortable cabin.

Reynold has owned seven boats since 1998. The current Lady Lisa, he said, is far and away his all-time favorite.

“It’s the best I have owned,” he said. “It’s perfectly balanced—it just gets up and goes.”
