Nor-Tech At 35—390 Sport Center Console No. 500 Is Fit For A King
Though he still owns a 25-year-old Cigarette 38 Top Gun sportboat, Stu Jones officially became “on trend” with most of his Florida Powerboat Club members when he took delivery of an outboard engine-powered Nor-Tech 390 Sport center console. The boat debuted during the 2024 Key West Poker Run.

The triple Mercury Racing 400R outboard-equipped 39-footer isn’t his first center console. Nor it is his first Nor-Tech as he owned a used 39-foot V-bottom dubbed King of Clubs he owned from 2007 to 2009.
But the 390 Sport is his first center console of the modern era. Plus, the triple Mercury Racing 400R outboard-powered creation is his new Nor-Tech build.
It’s also 390 Sport center-console build No. 500 for the Cape Coral, Fla., company.
More than a new ride for the Florida Powerboat Club honcho, Jones’ center consoles is a safety-asset for the organization. It’s equipped with rescue equipment including as a floating backboard, a trauma kit and automatic emergency defibrillator. A strobe/lightbar is mounted on the T-top. It even has a public address system that—so far at least—Jones has only used to get the attention of club members in his inimitable style.
Of course, Jones hopes that beyond the P.A. setup, which he seems to enjoy quite a bit, he never has to use any of the safety gear on the 39-footer. But it’s good to have and sends a strong message about his top priority.
Plus, unlike his vintage 38-foot Top Gun sportboat, his Nor-Tech 390 Sport center console can seat more the than two people comfortably.
