Leadership Charlevoix County (LCC) and Top of Michigan Trails Council (TOMTC) are rolling out a safe new way for bikers and outdoor recreation enthusiasts to connect Boyne City to Charlevoix communities. Over the next few months, LCC participants will be working with TOMTC to develop a trail connector route linking the Boyne Valley Trail to the Charlevoix Trail to provide users a safe route through downtown Boyne City.
“It has been a goal of Boyne City to connect our two fantastic trails and bring outdoor recreation enthusiasts safely through downtown Boyne City. We are extremely excited LCC and Top of Michigan are working together to make this happen and have no doubt that this project makes Boyne City and Charlevoix County a better place for residents and visitors alike,” says Mike Cain, Boyne City city manager.
Now that the route is selected, LCC participants and TOMTC will be creating a plan for wayfinding signage to guide users along the route, as well as develop informational trailhead signage to direct users to points of interest and local businesses.
