Neumanns Thinking ‘Hat-Trick’ Ahead Of Second Nor-Tech Console And MTI Cat Completions

The owners of the 2024 model-year MTI 440X catamaran that was displayed at the Miami International Boat Show in February, Jesse and Stephanie Neumann already have another 44-cat in production at the Wentzville, Mo., company. But the Minnesota-based pair also has their second new Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats 50 Sport center console being prepped for paint at Visual Imagination in Peculiar, Mo.

“The Nor-Tech is my is first paintjob with Mark Morris at Visual Imagination and the experience has been great,” said Jesse Neumann via mobile phone during yesterday’s drive—with the 44-footer in tow—to the family’s second home in Southwest Florida. “In fact, I already signed him up to paint my next MTI cat.”

Currently in the painting process at Visual Imagination, the Neumann’s new 50-footer won’t be their last boat to be painted by company owner/founder Mark Morris.

Clearly, the Neumanns know what they like in high-performance boats and enjoy the build process. In fact, they convinced Nor-Tech to add a 50-footer to its center console line and purchased hull No. 1.

Both boats will be powered by Mercury Racing 500R outboard engines—five for the center console and a pair for the cat.

“Jesse has been great to work with,” Morris said. “I can’t wait for him to see our work on his boat.

“We actually discussed the cat a little,” he continued. “Jesse told me he requested Visual Imagination and MTI also told me that. So I’m looking forward to it.”

Though it won’t happen immediately, Neumann is already considering his next Nor-Tech and MTI builds.

“I’ll probably go with another 50 from Nor-Tech,” he mused. “For an MTI cat, I am thinking about going with a 48-foot inboard boat.”

Neumann, who likes hockey at least as much as he likes go-fast boats, paused to laughed.

“That would be quite a hat-trick, right?” he said. “Three center consoles in a row, three cats in a row, all from the same two builders.”

Morris will paint no less than two boats for the Neumann family.
