MTI Principals Heading To Inaugural Bago Big Bet

The vice-president of MTI and daughter of company owners Randy and Cherell Scism, Taylor Scism has filled the final weekend of her June dance-card by registering for the Bago Big Bet event, June 20-23, presented by Mercury Racing. Scism, who participated in ran MTI’s new 440X demo catamaran in last weekend’s Florida Powerboat Club Orange Beach Powerboat Week poker run, will be joined in the event by her mother as well as her husband Shaun Peters, who also works the Wentzville, Mo., company.

Though she isn’t sure what boat they’ll run, Taylor Scism, her mother, Cherell, and husband Shaun Peters are heading to the Bago Big Bet in early June. Photos by Pete Boden copyright Shoot 2 Thrill Pics.

Scism registered for the inaugural event in Oshkosh, Wis., earlier today.

“I’m looking forward to it,” she said. “But I’m not sure what boat we’ll be bringing.

“June is crazy,” she continued. “We have something every weekend now. But we enjoy it.”

Shannon Higgins, the primary organizer of the four-day event, was delighted to see the registration come in today.

“I am humbled and overwhelmed at the continued support from the high-performance boating community for the first Bago Big Bet,” she said. “MTI’s presence is a friendly reminder of how truly amazing this network truly is. I am thrilled to host Taylor, her mom and her husband and look forward to a fantastic event.”

Taylor Scism has a fun roster of events, including two 450R Factory Stock-class offshore powerboat Races, to tackle next month.
