MTI At 25—Spooled Up Twice
Arguably the coolest matched-theme pair of MTIs ever created, Spooled Up, a 52-foot catamaran, and Spooled Up Support, an MTI-V 42 center console, were commissioned by Craig and Kim Hargreaves of Washington. Their unforgettable painted graphics were created by the ferociously talented Mark Morris of Visual Imagination in Peculiar, Mo. It is some of his most outrageous work to date.

The Mercury Racing 1550/1350 engine-powered cat debuted at the 2017 Desert Storm Poker Run in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Two years later, the Hargreaves took delivery of the 42-foot center console equipped with quad Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines.
The family also has a DCB Performance Boats M44 catamaran, a PlayCraft pontoon boat and several snowmobiles with the Spooled Up graphics theme.
“I think the new MTI turned out great—we’re happy with every part of it,” Morris said after the 42-footer was delivered to its new owners. “Craig and Kim are incredible customers. We’re fortunate that they continue to ask us to paint their boats.”
The Spooled Up Support MTI-V 42 center is the sister-ship to the the wild catamaran.
The Hargreaves were equally delighted about the finished product.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with our new MTI-V 42,” Craig Hargreaves said. “We enjoy working with MTI, Mercury Racing and Visual Imagination.”
