MTI At 25—Seven Up In Miami
Of all the high-performance center consoles unveiled at the 2017 Miami International Boat Show at Miami Marine Stadium on Virginia Key, none made a bigger splash than the MTI-V 57. First and most obviously, it was a massive boat that commanded attention.
The 57-footer literally created pedestrian traffic jams on the docks at the MTI display.

Second, it was powered by four 627-hp engines from Seven Marine, which debuted two years earlier during the 2015 Miami event. At the time, the hefty V-8 creation was the most powerful production outboard on the planet.
So new were the Seven Marine 627s powering the center console that they were still in their break-in period when the boat arrived in Miami. MTI principal Randy Scism hadn’t even been able to run the boat hard and didn’t have any performance numbers to offer at the time. But combined with the boat itself, the Seven Marine powerplants gave the 57-footer as much or more dock appeal as any boat in the show.
And that showed in the crowds that surrounded it for five days.

MTI built just a handful of boats with Seven Marine power, which are out of production. But for the better part on one week in Miami in 2017, the MTI-V 57 powered by quad 627s was the talk of the town.
