Miller Steps Down As Super Cat Owners Rep, Valder Taking Over

When M CON—now M CON/Monster— Super Cat team owner/throttleman Tyler Miller took over the role as class representative from Billy Mauff of WHM Motorsports, he had exactly one raceboat—his team’s Skater 388 catamaran powered by Sterling Performance engines—to worry about. He also had M CON Underground, a significant earthworks company he owns Wathena, Kans., to run.

At one time, Tyler and Lindsey Miller’s only offshore racing concern was their Super Cat-class Skater 388 raceboat—but circumstances have changed.

But while Miller and the entire M CON family has added a new Monster Energy drink-backed Class 1 Skater 438 raceboat to their stable—they couldn’t add hours to the day. Something had to give, so Miller has decided to step down as the Super Cat owners class representative. New Zealand’s Wayne Valder, who owns the 42-foot MTI Valder Yachts/Pro Floors Racing catamaran, which claimed top honors at last weekend at LOTO Powerfest on the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri, is taking over the class rep role.

“The Supercat Class deserves a representative who can dedicate 100 percent of the time required to keep the class at the forefront of offshore racing,” Miller explained. “With business at M CON, the addition of the new Class 1 Monster Energy/M CON boat, my wife, Lindsey, and I felt it was best to turn it over and dedicate our time to our Company and getting the Class 1 boat to the competitive position we strive for.

“We are looking forward to working with the new Supercat Representative Wayne Valder with Valder Yachts/Pro Floors Racing,” he added.

The next race on the Super Cat and Class 1 schedules is the Powerboat P1-produced Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix, June 28-July 2, in Southwest Florida.
