Midwest Boating Center Breaks Ground On New Facility

The longest-standing dealer for Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats, Midwest Boating Center principal Marvin Dufner has been waiting more than two years to break ground on a new state-of-the-art facility for his dealership in Lake Ozark, Mo. But for Dufner, his general manager Jason Taylor and the rest of the Midwest Boating Center team, the wait ended yesterday with the official groundbreaking moment for the 12,000-square-foot structure.

Though it will be one building, the new space will have showroom and warehouse sides. The showroom will include sales and administrative offices, a conference room to host clients ordering new Nor-Tech models, a parts room and a break room. Equipped with four 15-foot-tall, 18-foot-wide high-tech glass doors in aluminum frames, the warehouse will boast a polished floor for displaying new Nor-Tech and Everglades models, as well as a variety of pre-owned boats and a service area.

“We can display a 50-foot Nor-Tech in the warehouse and up to a 45-foot Nor-Tech in the showroom,” said Dufner, who plans to have a dealer/demo boat in stock at all times.

The new Midwest Boating Center facility is slated to open by spring 2025 and Dufner, who organizes a customer appreciation fun run every summer at the Lake of the Ozarks for all Nor-Tech clients, and his team will host an open house shortly thereafter. In the meantime, he is delighted to have finally broken ground on the property he purchased in 2019.

“Everything takes a little longer than you think, and the pandemic added to that,” he said. “It’s been a long time coming, but we’re moving now and we are excited to get this open for our new and existing customers.”
