Thanks to a plethora of partnerships, the Marine Concept Motorsports display during the upcoming Lake of the Ozarks Shootout On The Strip presented by Waves and Wheels, scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 24 In Lake Ozark, Mo., is going to be quite the showstopper.

According to Marine Concept Motorsports owner Randy Kent, the Kaiser, Mo.-based dealership is displaying a brand new Renegade Powerboats 38′ Open powered by triple Mercury Racing 400R engines and painted by Mark Morris and the talented team at Visual Imagination (see rendering below). Alongside the 38-foot center console will be a new DEFCO Trucks BA350 and the XINSURANCE– and DEFCO-sponsored Cadillac drag racing car owned by Larry Larson of Larson Race Cars and the popular Discovery Channel show, Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings.
Visual Imagination is currently finishing the paintjob on a new Renegade Powerboats 38′ Open.
“We’re delivering a new 38′ Open to a great customer of ours, Kurt Clink, and we’re going to show his boat off at the street party,” said Kent, who was inducted into the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Bob Morgan Memorial Hall of Fame last year. “Mark and Tiffany Maasen’s 38′ Open, which we delivered in April, is going to be right by our display in the Poly Lift Boat Lifts space. We’re also delivering a pre-owned 38 to another customer at the lake so we have a busy week.
“We were hoping to bring a DEFCO BA450 or BA550, but we currently have six in production and they’re all sold,” added Kent, who purchased the custom truck company in 2021. “The DEFCO business has been booming. The trucks are just incredible.”
When asked how the DEFCO drag-car sponsorship came to be, Kent said he reconnected with Larson after attending a race in Palm Beach, Fla., while he was in town for a Barrett-Jackson auction.
“Larry and I go way back—I’ve known him from growing up in Kansas City and from racing together at the local drag strip, but I’ve never done any sponsor deals with him until now,” Kent said. “I’m sure a lot of people will enjoy seeing his car on display. We’re also going to take it to Key West in November for the poker run and the offshore world championships.”
Kent added that he’s looking forward to another eventful Lake of the Ozarks Shootout week and seeing everyone during the Shootout On The Strip.
Larry Larson’s racecar is sure to catch a lot of attention during next week’s Shootout On The Strip.
