The almost century-old annual Bayview Yacht Club Mackinac Race from Detroit to Mackinac is one of the longest and most difficult freshwater races in the world. First started in 1925, the race returned on Saturday, July 16 for its 98th year.
In conjunction with the anniversary of the race, Shinola released a special automatic chronograph specifically designed for competition recreational sailing, the Mackinac Yacht Watch Automatic, which serves as a regatta timer.
Inspired by the event, the watch boasts a 40mm square stainless steel case with an exhibition case back window and bright canary-yellow dial with three-tone blue yacht timer sub. It is Shinola’s first watch with automatic, single-eye chronograph yacht-timer functionality.
