M CON/Monster Energy Super Cat-Class Raceboat Sold

A proven winner with four national championships in a row and one world title to its credit, the Super Cat-class M CON/Monster Energy Skater 388 catamaran owned by Tyler and Lindsey Miller has been sold. But the 38-footer didn’t go far as new owner Rob Unnerstall—like the Millers—considers the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri his home-water.

Unnerstall is the owner and driver of the CR Racing Super Cat team. He and CR Racing throttleman Casey Boaz also campaign a Skater 388. The catamaran formerly ran in the class as Performance Boat Center/Jimmy John’s Freaky Fast and claimed world and national championships with throttleman John Tomlinson and driver Myrick Coil in the cockpit.
Unnerstall plans to convert the 38-footer to an open-cockpit, eight-seat pleasure boat. He and Boaz will campaign the former M CON /Monster Energy Skater in the Super Cat class this season under the CR Racing banner. But rather than using the boat’s existing power from Sterling Performance Engines, he’s going with spec Super Cat engines built by his longtime family friend and engine-man Dave “Pee Wee” Meredith.
“The M CON boat is fast,” explained Unnerstall. “We knew we had a third- or fourth-place boat with our current Skater, but there wasn’t much we could do beyond that.
“We’re very excited about it,” he added.
Before he decided to buy the M CON Skater raceboat, Unnerstall had a build slot for a 388 at the Douglas, Mich., company. That slot, plus a 31-foot Victory raceboat he owns, are for sale.
