Here, he shares his forecast for the new year when it comes to luxury yacht entertainment area trends for 2023.
Tom, can you give me your top 5 predicted luxury yacht entertainment area trends for 2023?
Tom: Entertainment on yachts has always been a major factor in the purchase of a yacht. The more areas that are useful for entertainment, the better the owner’s experience, and their use of the yacht. Prior to the last few years, entertainment was done primarily on the aft deck and salon. When yachts started being designed with a garage for the dinghy and water toys, the upper deck became available for lounging, jacuzzi and bars which introduced the third entertaining area. Now, within the last few years, the bow has become another entertaining area, no longer just for anchoring and deck boxes but with sun lounges, seating, and convertible tables. These areas became multi-purpose with sunshades held up by carbon-fiber poles. Recently, the swim platform has become a beach club area for waterfront relaxing and water sport fun. A yacht with all or most of these features gives the owners flexibility in entertainment and are a plus for pleasurable entertaining of friends and family.
What kind of luxury yachts for sale do you see with these trends already?
Tom: The Ferretti Group is the leader in design and technology, and they have incorporated these features, limited only by the size of the yacht. Allied Marine is the exclusive US dealer for Riva Yachts, Pershing Yachts, Ferretti Yachts, Itama and the authorized for CRN and Custom Line. When you investigate each of the brands, you will see these features in the space available.
Some popular innovations found in luxury yachts for sale this year have been:
- High-tech audio and visual systems: Yacht entertainment systems are becoming more advanced, with high-resolution displays, high-end speakers, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment.
- Personalized entertainment: Yachts are being designed with entertainment areas that cater to specific interests, such as gaming, movies, and sports. These areas can include dedicated gaming consoles, home theaters, and sports equipment.
- Health and wellness amenities: yoga studios, massage rooms, and steam rooms.
- Enhanced outdoor entertainment spaces: Yacht owners are looking to make the most of their outdoor spaces, with features such as outdoor cinemas, hot tubs, and swim-up bars.
What are your thoughts about any new trends and ideas will emerge in the future?
Tom: In the future I see more use of underwater cameras filming owners and friends enjoying SeaBob, wave riders, paddle boards, as well as capturing on video island expeditions and adventures. Once they return to the yacht, I envision their experience played back seamlessly on TVs throughout the yacht while relaxing. Everything is moving faster and experiencing the day on video before it is over is the future.
The most important thing is to use the yacht and enjoy it with family and friends and record your memories so they can be enjoyed for those not along on the trip. The yacht is for one important purpose and that is to be enjoyed.
