Leinenkugel’s Lakewater Taffy is Made With Water from Great Lakes
Leinenkugel now offers a fun, tasty treat made with water from the Great Lakes! Leinkugel’s Lakewater Taffy, made in partnership with Taffy Kitchen in Frankenmouth, Michigan, offers the signature bright lemonade-with-a-hint-of-malt flavor in a traditional taffy with a twist. Instead of salt water taffy, this taffy is made with water from Lake Huron and Lake Superior, reports On Milwaukee. After all, the Great Lakes makes up over one fifth of the world’s freshwater, so why not use it in our local taffy?
Pulled in the old-fashioned way, the taffy is wrapped by a vintage 1913 machine in the family-owned store in Frankenmuth. While the Leinenkugel’s Lakewater Taffy does not contain alcohol, you must be 21 or older to purchase.
Each case contains 12 taffies and costs $5.99 plus shipping and handling. Packs can be purchased at freshtaffy.com/pages/leinieslakewater.
