Latest DCB M37R Cat Is Shootout Silver Bullet
Owned by Joe and Danica Juliano of Orange, Calif., the newest DCB Performance Marine M37R Widebody catamaran is already on its way to the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Central Missouri. The couple named the 37-footer, which is their third catamaran from the Phoenix-based company, Silver Bullet.
The newest M37R catamaran, Silver Bullet is the third DCB owned by Joe and Danica Juliano.
All of which goes to prove that a headline can be simultaneously literal and figurative.
On Wednesday the couple will head to the lake to enjoy their new Mercury Racing 500R outboard engine-powered prize in advance at Super Cat Fest ahead of Saturday and Sunday’s top-speed contest on the three-quarter-mile Shootout course. As planned, DCB vice president Tony Chiaramonte will run the cat during the competition.
The boat’s helm station is completely digital.
Silver Bullet is one of three M37Rs expected compete this weekend—and one of a dozen that will be displayed in the water at the concurrent Super Cat Fest event at the Camden On The Lake host venue.
“Tony will run it—he’s definitely a little bit lighter than I am and has a little more experience,” Joe Juliano said, then laughed. “And the boat also is built a bit lighter than the average M37R.”
Wilson Custom Marine blueprinted the lower units of the 500-hp outboard engines.
To gain a further advantage in the Shootout, as well as everyday pleasure use, Juliano tasked Wilson Custom Marine to blueprint the outboards’ lower units.
“If it runs as well as it did the other day we tested it, it should put down a pretty good number,” he said.
Bob Morgan Memorial Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Hall of Fame member Tony Chiaramonte will run the 37-footer in this weekend’s competition.
