Kuttawa Cannonball Run Opens Registration
Now that the revamp of the Kuttawa Cannonball Run website is complete—think cleaner, faster and easier to navigate—the organizers have opened registration for the June 2-3, Kentucky-based event. The run is celebrating its seventh anniversary, and what started as a small, mostly local gathering on the water has grown to be one of the nation’s most popular go-fast boating events.

“As our team has grown, so has our ability to host one of the best runs in the country,” said Jeff Hoefling, who organizes the event with his girlfriend, Audra Meyer, Terry and Melanie Martin and Stephen and Heather Miles. “It’s great to hear from people across the United States who don’t know us personally, but know about our run and that it’s one they should experience.”

Headquartered out of Kuttawa Harbor Marina, the event includes a short, casual Friday lunch run ahead of Saturday’s longer, 120-plus-mile main event. Last year’s Kuttawa happening attracted 130-plus boats, a bit shy of its 180-boat record set in 2021 but also a bit more manageable for the organizers and participants. The event also saw a single Stephen Miles Design-painted shot-ski fetched a mind-bending $27,000 during Saturday night’s charity auction.
The event raised more than $60,000 for local charities in 2022.

“We have met some of the best people in the boating world, and they continue to come to Old Kuttawa, Kentucky, during the first weekend in June,” said Martin. “It’s quite amazing that we are able to give back to this small community in such a big way. I want to say thank you in advance to everyone who has joined us in the past and continues to join us, year after year.”
