For the past two days, 70-plus teams have been rolling into Key West, Fla., for the 43rd annual Offshore World Championships. Assuming high winds forecasted for Wednesday don’t shut down the cranes required to lift boats in and out of the water, competition at the Race World Offshore-produced event will begin in two days. Here’s a quick look at the race schedule.

Wednesday, November 6, Friday, November 8 and Sunday, November 10 10. a.m.—Bracket 500, 600, 700 classes and the (single entry) 3X and 3C classes. 10:45 a.m.—Mod V and Bracket 200, 300 and 400 classes. 12:30 p.m.—450R Factory Stock class. 1:15 p.m.—Super Cat class. 2:15 p.m.—Class 1 USA, Super V and Extreme classes. 3:15 p.m.—Super Stock class.
Veteran offshore powerboat racing announcer Todd Swofford and longtime high-performance marine journalist Eric Colby, who covers the sport for speedonthewater.com, will handle all three days of live broadcasting. Fans can catch all of the action each day on the Race World Offshore YouTube channel as well as they organization’s Facebook page.
Worth noting: Offshore racing is a complicated sport affected by many variables, from weather to sea life on the racecourse. As such, start-time delays are not uncommon. Any advance changes to the planned schedule will be reported on the Race World Offshore website and social media channels, as well as on speedonthewater.com as soon as they become available.
