Just In Time For Naples, Sunsation 32 CCX Is New Owner’s Dream Boat

When the sun rose last Friday in Naples, Fla., Hunter Fooks was boat-less. That presented a small problem for the Maryland-based American Airlines pilot as he was registered for the Florida Powerboat Club Naples Poker Run that weekend. The 34-boat fleet was set to leave later that morning for a lunch run to Marco Island.
If his 2024 model-year Sunsation Powerboats 32 CCX center console, which officially became his on Thursday, didn’t arrive in time he’d have to hitch a ride on another boat. Not tragic, of course, but disappointing.

The gray 32-footer arrived at 7:30 a.m. A few hours later, Fooks and his friend, David Riley, were on their way in the twin Mercury Racing 400R outboard engine-powered center console to Marco Island with the rest of the Florida Powerboat Club fleet. He also ran his new prize the following day in the group-trek to Everglades City.
But talk about a delivery in the nick of time.
Fooks’ journey into the go-fast boating world began with a boat ride at the 2021 Erie Poker Run. During the event, high-performance marine finance and insurance man Devin Wozencraft took him out in his 30-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran, a moving billboard of sorts that he has since replaced with a 34-foot Victory catamaran.
Fooks was hooked. “That’s where my addiction began,” he said, then laughed.
Fooks first spied the striking 32-footer during the 2024 Rockin The Harbor Poker Fun Run in Maryland and became friends with the boat’s now-former owner. Financed and insured through Wozencraft, it is his second boat—his first was a 30-foot Concept Boats center console he purchased last year.
“I love it,” he said. “It’s solid and smooth and at 66 mph I’m getting two miles per gallon.”

Fooks plans to keep his 32 CCX for four or five years while he saves the money he needs to buy something a bit more sporty, mostly likely an outboard-powered catamaran.
“In a way, Devin and I have come full circle,” he said, then chuckled. “The ride he gave me in his Skater four years ago at the Erie run got me into this. Now I have my second boat and I financed and insured it through him. And we just did the same poker run.
“I never thought I would own a boat like this,” he added. “And now I do.”
