Ison Marine Spearheading Hurricane Helene Relief Effort

A Kentucky-based GSX Powerboats/Glasstream Powerboats center console dealer and the parent company of the Cigarette Racing Kentucky dealership in Bronston, Ison Marine is leading a boots-on-the-ground effort to help victims of Hurricane Helene. The recent storm claimed more than 100 lives according to national media reports and left thousands of residents in the Southeast without shelter, food or significant belongings.

“We have the trucks, trailers and manpower to do what we can to help those in need,” Tiffany Crawford wrote on the Ison Marine Facebook page. “We have a 53-foot enclosed trailer, a 26-foot enclosed trailer and many open-deck trailers available. Let’s fill them up.”

Needed items include water, ready-to-eat meals, snacks and canned goods, hygiene products for women and men, pet food and livestock feed, over-the-counter medications and other medical supplies, new (only) clothing, blankets, trash bags, work gloves and boxes.

A complete list of needed goods and drop-off locations for Northern and Southern Kentucky, Ohio and Southern Indiana are listed on the Ison Marine Facebook page. Financial donations to be used for the purchase of needed supplies also will be accepted. The donation portals also are listed on the Ison Marine Facebook page.

The current plan is for the trucks to depart for the hardest-hit areas on October 7.

“We all pray we are never in the shoes that thousands are standing in right now,” Crawford wrote. “We are in a position to help and that is what we are going to do. Let’s come together to help those who were affected in the worst way.”
