Image Of The Week—It Must Be The Tequila
Finding their footing in the early part of the 2023 Mod V season, the Sun Print team of owner/throttleman Steve Miklos and driver Steve Fehrmann went on to claim the American Power Boat Association National Championship in their class. On the fence and leaning toward staying put in Sarasota, Fla., rather than heading to Key Wet, Fla., for the APBA-sanctioned 2023 Race World Offshore World Championships, they ended up going after a nudge from their relatively new sponsor El Bandido Yankee Tequila.
They returned from Key West with a Mod V world title.

Yesterday at the 7 Mile Offshore Grand Prix in Marathon, Fla., Miklos and Fehrmann remained patient, eventually overtook the XINSURANCE/Statement team of owner/throttleman Nick Buis and driver J.J. They held on to take the checkered flag in what was the first race of APBA Offshore National Championship Series.
The El Bandido Tequila Yankee Tequila/Sun Print team boys are on a roll, that’s for sure. We can’t wait to see what they do May 17-19 at the second race of the APBA series in Cocoa Beach, Fla.
Could it be the tequila? We wouldn’t bet against it.
