Image Of The Week: A Forehand Smash At The Tip Of The Spear
Covering the inaugural Tip of the Spear Poker Run this weekend in Virginia, speedonthewater.com contributing photographer Jeff Helmkamp sent a slew of excellent images from yesterday’s fun run. They included several of North Carolina’s Brian Forehand and his son, Brian, Jr., who celebrated his sixth birthday this month, on the water.

The son isn’t just a chip of his father’s block. He’s the whole freaking woodpile.
And he’s already done more go-fast boating than most folks several times his age. That comes with the territory of being the son of the current V-bottom kilometer speed-record-holder, Marker 17 Marine business owner and world-champion offshore racer.
At just six years old, Brian Forehand, Jr., is already an experienced performance-boat enthusiast.
The Forehand boys ran the unique canopied Marker 17 Marine SVX 50 sportboat in yesterday’s outing, and they’re back out there again today for the main event.
Will Brian Forehand, Jr., follow in his father’s go-fasting boating footsteps?
Dumb question. He already is.
Like father, like son.
