Great Lakes Grand Prix: What To Watch, Where To Watch It And More

With the Bracket 700- and 600-class contests—plus practice and testing sessions for all classes—completed yesterday on Lake Michigan, competition begins again this morning at the XINSURANCE Great Lakes Grand Prix in Michigan City, Ind. Offshore racing cans can catch all the action on the five-mile, counter-clockwise course on the Offshore Powerboat Association YouTube channel.

Here’s a quick look at what’s on tap today:

10:30 a.m.—Bracket 200, 300, 400 and 500. All classes but the four-team Bracket 400 category has one boat registered.

11:30—Super Stock. There are 12 boats registered in the Super Stock fleet, which makes it the largest class in the event.

JBS Racing is one of the three boats in the Extreme Class.

1 p.m.—450R Factory Stock (2 boats), Super V (2 boats), Mod V (2 boats) and Stock V (1 boat).

2:30 p.m.—Super Cat and Extreme. The Graydel, WHM Motorsports and Wicked teams will take the green flag in Super Stock. The new V-bottom American Custom Marine team will go head to with two catamaran teams, XINSURANCE, a Class 1 boat returning to the racecourse for the first time this season, and JBS Racing.fffasa
