Scheduled for June 17-19, the West Michigan Offshore Muskegon Powerboat Weekend and Poker Run is bringing back its traditional Friday evening high-performance V-bottom and catamaran display in advance of the Saturday poker run on Lake Michigan. The Friday night event will return to the grounds of the LST393 historic ship exhibit, but this year the showcase will include the Good Boy Vodka Poker Run Village tent.

The Good Boy Vodka brand, which now includes a line of hard seltzer, was founded by Michigander Alex Pratt. A high-performance powerboat enthusiast with a motorcycle-racing background, Pratt owns a turbine-engine-powered 50-foot catamaran from Mystic Powerboats. (He also competed in his first offshore powerboat race last weekend with the 345 Racing/XINSURANCE Class 1 team in Cocoa Beach, Fla.) The Good Boy Vodka/XINSURANCE-branded Mystic cat will be on display at the Friday evening.
For Pratt, the sponsorship was a natural choice on personal and professional levels.
“West Michigan Offshore was where it all started for me and the people involved are like family to us,” he explained. “Plus, the event is in Michigan—my home state—and of the six states where we currently sell our products Michigan is our fastest-growing vodka market.”
The president of West Michigan Offshore, Roger Zuidema is encouraging members of the non-profit, charity-supporting club to display their boats at the Friday night happening.
“While we enjoy the ‘big boys,’ this event is set up to showcase boats of all types and sizes,” he wrote in a recent West Michigan Offshore press release. “We would love to see over 30 boats and rigs, while owners enjoy an evening reacquainting with old friends and meeting new ones.”
The showcase opens to the public at 4 p.m. and is scheduled to remain open until dusk. Boat owners who sign up and bring their vessels are asked to stay until 8:30 p.m., according to the release. Interested members can sign up for the showcase by clicking here.
Registration for the Muskegon Powerboat Weekend Poker Run is still open.
