Good Boy Vodka Adding To Excitement Around Mercury Racing Midwest Challenge

Coinciding with several exciting events the marketing team at Good Boy Vodka has planned for next week’s Mercury Racing Midwest Challenge in Sheboygan, Wis., the Michigan-based vodka brand behind the popular, multi-flavored, ready-to-drink cocktails announced a new partnership with Dog2DogTags, a Sheboygan Falls-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support to at-risk dogs and veterans in need.

According to Alex Pratt, the founder and CEO of the vodka brand that has certainly delivered on its “Every Pour Helps a Pup” motto though its Good Boy Foundation, the mission of Dog2DogTags is two-fold: they rescue and train at-risk dogs, then place them with deserving service members who are coping with post-combat stress and anxiety, as well as veterans who were wounded at war.

“Good Boy Vodka is proud to be associated with Dog2DogTags and its mission of compassion and support,” said Pratt, who is currently in Michigan City, Ind., with his marketing and activation team as well as his XINSURANCE/Good Boy Vodka Class 1 teammates for this weekend’s Offshore Powerboat Association-sanctioned Great Lakes Grand Prix. “The partnership with this incredible organization reflects a shared commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of veterans and their canine companions. Together, they aim to raise awareness and funds to further the cause and provide much-needed support to those who have served our country.”

Pratt said he is excited to attend his first race in the picturesque city of Sheboygan and that the team at Good Boy Vodka has some big plans in store for race enthusiasts and dog lovers alike to make this year’s Mercury Racing Midwest Challenge a memorable event.

Not only will racing fans get the chance to select from an array of summer apparel, race-ready gear and even treats for their pups from the company’s merchandise trailer, Good Boy Vodka will be hosting exciting giveaways throughout the event, which is being produced by Powerboat P1.

Meghan Peel, the company’s social marketing manager, explained that lucky attendees will have the chance to win exclusive merchandise, limited-edition products and other fantastic prizes. She added that if someone hasn’t tried their delicious ready-to-drink cocktails, Festival Foods and Piggly Wiggly will be hosting tastings at select locations.

Of course enthusiasts of the Class 1 team partly owned by Pratt, who is currently not racing following a boating accident in which he was a passenger, can get an up-close look at the technologically advanced 48-foot MTI catamaran that is a testament to the brand’s commitment to excellence and adventure.

“It’s going to be a busy week celebrating Mercury Racing and everything the legendary brand has done for our sport and this lifestyle,” Pratt said. “We’re feeding veterans lunch one day; we’re hosting pub crawls; and we’re going big for the block party on Friday night. It’s going to be epic.”

Pratt, who said that Wisconsin is one of Good Boy Vodka’s best-selling states, is looking forward to bringing more attention to Dog2DogTags.

“By creating opportunities for these dogs to find loving homes with veterans, Dog2DogTags offers a gift of companionship that can be invaluable in helping them navigate the unique challenges of everyday life,” he said. “The best part? There is no out-of-pocket cost to the veteran, making it possible for them to receive the support and companionship they need without financial burden.

“My team has spent a lot of time and money to truly make a difference and help our nation’s veterans and warrior dogs,” he continued. “Plus most of it is done around boat racing and additional performance boat events.”

Regarding next week’s schedule (pictured above), on Thursday (Aug. 10), the team at Good Boy Vodka is providing a free lunch for veterans at the VFW Post #9156. Pratt said, “It’s a small token of appreciation for their service and sacrifice to our nation.”

On Wednesday and Thursday evening, Good Boy Vodka is bringing the party to Sheboygan with a two-day pub crawl featuring an itinerary packed with top-notch local bars. On Friday, Pratt and company are going to be at the block party at City Green with merchandise and more.

The competition in Sheboygan—featuring three classes: 450R Factory Stock, Class 1 and Super Stock—takes place Saturday and Sunday. Look for full coverage following next week’s races on speedonthewater.com.
