Florida Powerboat Club Heads On ‘Soft’ Poker-Run Tour—Starting With Kuttawa Event
Poker-run organizers seeking wisdom—and perhaps a boost in participation—were disappointed to learn that Stu and Jackie Jones, the owners of the Florida Powerboat Club, are passing on hauling their 38-foot Cigarette Racing Team Top Gun to various events this summer. As previously reported on speedonthewater.com, the couple plans to focus more intensely on the club’s Bahamas events and even enjoy some personal travel to Europe.

But that isn’t stopping them from attending various events including the June 20-23 Bago Big Bet in Oshkosh, Wis., and their “soft” poker-run tour—meaning minus their Cigarette hardware—now includes the eighth annual Kuttawa Cannonball Run set for May 31-June 1 in Kuttawa, Ky.
In fact, the couple has already donated to the Kuttawa run organizers for the Lyon County charities benefitted by their event.
As they will for the Bago Big Bet, Jones and his wife will be hitching a ride for the Kuttawa Cannonball Run. They’ll be riding with Paul Michael Ison and Tiffany Crawford, the couple behind the new Cigarette Kentucky dealership, in their 42 Auroris center console.

“Kuttawa was on my radar last year, but it didn’t work out,” Stu Jones explained. “This year, it started with an invitation from Paul to come join him and Tiffany for the run. They are very active members with Florida Powerboat Club. Paul told me they were launching a new Cigarette dealership and celebrating that in Kuttawa, and they wanted us to be a part of that.
“I think we have a legitimate ‘FPC 2024 Summer Tour’ shaping up, just without us bringing a boat,” he added then laughed. “Kuttawa and Bago are the only events on there now, but there are a couple of others we are considering.”
Florida Powerboat Club Powerboating In Paradise magazines and 2024 calendars will available at no charge during the event.
Said Kuttawa organizing group member Jeff Hoefling, “Everyone here is super-excited to have Stu and Jackie Jones here this year.”
