Finally. Sorry. Hurray. The Speed On The Water 2023 Year In Review Is Here

Although a handful of folks at Wednesday night’s Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats after party following the opening of the Miami International Boat Show got a chance to see the ninth annual Speed On The Water print magazine—the 196-page 2023 Year In Review issue—in person, the majority of people will finally start getting their hands on the magazine today, tomorrow and early next week since it started shipping.

Yes, it finally started shipping. Let me emphasize that again—finally. For that, I am sorry. I must apologize to colleagues, readers, advertisers and more whom did not get their magazine at their doorstep, in their mailbox or on their company receiving dock in mid to late January as they have for many years. There are reasons for the delay, some advertising, some editorial and some personal, but the bottom line is that the best possible 2023 Year In Review magazine is on its way to readers around the country and beyond, and I can’t wait to hear what people think (and get my own hands on a copy).

At this point, that is in the past and the good news is that the earliest copies of the 2023 Year In Review magazines were expedited and shipped from Michigan on Monday to make sure they arrived for Friday night’s Florida Powerboat Club/Speed On The Water Miami Boat Show Bash. Fortunately they arrived in time for speedonthewater.com founder Matt Trulio and speedonthewater.com chief photographer Pete Boden to take some copies to the Nor-Tech party on Wednesday evening. That timing worked out well since Nor-Tech’s 55 Flyer—a one-of-a-kind 55-foot marvel crafted by the Fort Myers, Fla., builder—was the subject of this year’s “Spotlight” fold-out spread.

Needless to say, the folks at Nor-Tech were floored. Not only were they impressed, but they were appreciative, which was cool considering what went into getting the magnificent Lady Lisa onto the pages of the magazine. It also was cool that Boden was able to jump in for a photo opp with Nor-Tech co-founder Trond Schou and Kimberly, the passenger on the rear sun pad in the featured image, during the party.

According to Trulio, who informed me via text on Wednesday night that “the book is stunning,” the response from the limited amount of people who have seen the magazine has been very positive. He’s excited to hear what people think at the party speedonthewater.com is co-hosting with the Florida Powerboat Club.

Of course, we still have copies available for purchase if you’d like to order one for yourself or extras for friends. Please be patient though as we won’t have our office copies in hand for several days.
