Factory Billet ‘World’s Fastest V-Bottom’ Video Tops 200,000 Views
If you’ve watched the Speed On The Water/Scrapyard Media video capturing Factory Billet’s record-setting performance at the 2023 Lakes of the Ozarks Shootout and the effort it took—and more than 200,000 of you have by our YouTube channel metrics—you already know that the canopied 51-footer reached 184 mph on the three-quarter-mile course in Central Missouri. You know that the previous day’s lackluster left the team’s Jim Schultz and Mike Faucher scrambling to find parts at a local hardware store for a makeshift waste-gate-repair solution. You know that wet weather greeted them the following morning.

And you know that once the rain stopped Schultz piloted the beautiful V-bottom into high-performance powerboating history with Faucher at his side.
But if you haven’t watched the video in a while, and as noted above more than 200,000 of you have, it’s high-time you enjoy it again. And if you haven’t watched it yet?
Where the hell have you been and what is wrong with you?
To be fair, the Factory Billet video still trails the Monster Energy/M CON Class 1 raceboat-build video by 240,000-plus views in the collaborative Speed On The Water/Scrapyard Media record-book. Plus, it won’t be the last such video as Schultz has assured the Speed On The Water and Scrapyard Media teams that he and Faucher are coming for an attempt to break the record they set in 2023.
That also means another Factory Billet video from the Shootout is in the offing. Schultz is committed to both.
“But if we break the record, that means Factory Billet also gets the cover of the 2024 Speed On The Water Year In Review issue, right?” Faucher said during a recent phone call. “Right?”
Right.
