Erie MetroParks Plans Earth Day Extravaganza
To celebrate environmental accomplishments and raise awareness about the need to protect Earth’s natural resources, Erie MetroParks in Huron, Ohio is hosting an Earth Day Extravaganza in Osborn MetroPark on April 20, 2024, in partnership with Shores & Islands Ohio, Erie Conservation District, Erie County Health Department, Friends of Erie MetroParks, Friends of Old Woman Creek, VacationLand Federal Credit Union, Firelands Audubon Society and First Energy.
Held from 11am-3pm, the event shines a light on the area’s love of nature, with craft stations, live animals, face painting, a disc golf station, food, a dj and free activities. Dr. Insecta will perform his “Spider Stroll” program from 12-2 and Back to the Wild will be there with their “Birds of Prey” exhibit from 12-3. There will also be several local organizations showcasing their work in the community and offering unique activities and giveaways.
The third Annual Ohio Wildlife Youth Art Show will take place during the event, showcasing hundreds of local artists from area schools, with an awards ceremony at 2pm during the Extravaganza.
