Early June Fun Run Benefitting Michigan Parkinson Foundation Returning To Lake St. Clair
Performance-boat fans in the Midwest who want to get a jump on the 2024 season can do just that with a Wednesday, June 5, Fun Run on Michigan’s Lake St. Clair benefitting the Michigan Parkinson Foundation. Registration for the upcoming fourth annual event is open.

The run was started by friends Matt Floore, Randal Pagel and Danny Lichocki, all of whom own powerboats—two from Formula and one from Sea-Ray. Floore’s now 66-year-old mother, Mary, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2015. That inspired the trio to create a boating event benefitting the Michigan Chapter of the Parkinson Foundation.
They had hoped to launch their first event in 2020, but the pandemic canceled their plans. So they started in 2021 and the boat counts have grown steadily.
The Fun Run benefitting the Michigan Parkinson Foundation continues to grow and attract a diverse group of performance boats.
We started with 30 to 40 boats,” said Floore. “Last year, we had 60 boats, and so far we’ve raised $500,000 for the Michigan Parkinson Foundation. “We just want to try to grow and accommodate more boats. We leave registration open to everyone—it’s not just open to performance boats.”
Two years ago, the event took on even more personal meaning for the trio.
“That’s when we found out Randal’s father has Parkinson’s,” said Floore.
