E1 Owner Marc Anthony Introduces E1 Team Miami Pilots For 2024 Season

As anticipation grows for the upcoming debut season of the all-new the Union Internationale Motonautique E1 World Championship—the first and only all-electric powerboat racing series that features the electric-powered hydrofoil raceboat called the RaceBird—in Saudi Arabia early next month, more of the team lineups are starting to shake out.

Yesterday, E1 Team Miami, the recently established team under the leadership of Grammy Award-winning artist Marc Anthony, announced in a press release the two pilots who are going to be racing for the team during the inaugural the 2024 E1 World Championship, which kicks off in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, February 2-3, and continues with six race sites throughout Europe before concluding with a spectacular finale on the globally recognized waters of Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong, November 9-10.

Being operated by the renowned Victory Team, the Dubai-based powerboat racing heavyweight, Team Miami announced the inclusion of six-time powerboat world champion Erik Stark from Sweden, and world and eight-time national champion professional stand-up watercraft racer Anna Glennon from the United States to its starting lineup for the first season.

“I am excited to introduce my E1 drivers and proud to have Erik Stark and Anna Glennon as members of our team,” E1 Team Miami co-owner Marc Anthony said in the release. “They both have impressive careers and amazing work ethics. I am proud of their achievements in the field and we are more than ready to bring revolution to the water and offer the fans a show they’ve never seen before.”

Stark, who finished the 2023 UIM F1H2O World Championship in second place overall behind fellow Swede Jonas Andersson, joins E1 Team Miami as part of the Victory Team’s partnership. Stark is a professional powerboat racer and multi-time world champion with 23-plus years of experience driving boats. He started boat racing at age 12 and is the most decorated Swedish powerboat racer of all time, according to the release. Stark, who has been driving for the Dubai-based Victory team since 2019, holds the world record for winning four consecutive world championship titles in F2 powerboat racing and has been awarded the King’s Jubilee medal.

Glennon, who will be racing alongside Stark, is no stranger to the international stage, entering the new E1 Series as a world champion and eight-time U.S. and Canadian champion. Originally from Overland Park, Kan., Glennon learned to ride stand-up Jet Skis at her family’s lake home at Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks and later moved to Lake Havasu City, Ariz., to continue her training in the “Personal Watercraft Capital of the World.” In 2013, first full season of racing, she won her first national championship. To date, Glennon is the only woman in International Jet Sports Boating Association history to win the Men’s Classic Two-Stroke world championship title.

Jet Ski-racing champion Anna Glennon of the U.S. is excited to be joining accomplished Swedish boat racer Erik Stark on the 2024 E1 Team Miami.

According to the release, the two pilots will receive expert guidance from the internationally acclaimed Victory Team, which will be leading the technical and operational aspects of the team. In collaboration with the franchise that is being built around Miami’s rich history of powerboat racing and marine mobility not to mention the famed city’s glitz and glamour, Victory Team, which boasts a 30-year history in watercraft racing with an impressive collection of 25 world titles, is contributing a dedicated team principal, two highly skilled mechanics, a performance engineer and Stark as its designated pilot.
