Drag Boat Racing Champion Tony Scarlata Joins Wozencraft Insurance Team
Multi-time world champion drag boat racer Tony Scarlata, best known for covering a 1000-foot liquid race track in record time, will now be covering boaters with insurance, in presumably the same manner. Scarlata recently received his insurance license and will be taking his talents into the marine insurance market by teaming up with California-based Wozencraft Insurance and Finance.
Scarlata is no stranger to the boating community. Having grown up around the water, he started drag boat racing in 1990 in a bracket class flat-bottom boat, that he received for graduating college. With his dedication, determination, and raw natural talent, he parlayed that into moving up in classes, setting speed records and being tapped to drive for more established teams. Since his first professional gig in 2003, Scarlata has compiled over 25 championships, set countless world records, and now looks to take his passion into the insurance world of high-performance boating.

“I’ve always wanted to be doing something in the boating industry and just being around boats,” says Scarlata. “My dad has always been an insurance agent so I understood insurance and I understand the need for insurance with people in the big boats.”
Scarlata resides in Lake Havasu City, AZ with his wife, Sandra and will be working out of Wozencraft’s Lake Havasu office–located on 231 Swanson Ave. #202. While he still plans to continue racing, he will spend the rest of his time following-up on potential leads and catering to his clients, alongside company founder Devin Wozencraft and partner Tanah Kinsey.

Scarlata’s first event as a Wozencraft insurance agent will be the Big Cat Poker Run on August 11-13 in Discovery Bay, CA followed by the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Week later this month in central Missouri.
