Double R Performance Delivers Nor-Tech 390 Sport No. 400 In Time For Boyne Thunder
The most obvious milestone for this weekend’s Boyne Thunder Poker Run is the event’s 20th anniversary, and there will be plenty of celebration around that for the next few days in Boyne City, Mich. But for Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats, its Toronto-area dealer Double R Performance, and three-time Double R clients Matt and Tara Willman, the Boyne Thunder event set the stage for another milestone.
Matt and Tara Willman took delivery their Nor-Tech 390 Sport center console just in time for this weekend’s Boyne Thunder Poker Run.
Yesterday, the Willmans took delivery of Nor-Tech 390 Sport center console No. 400 from Peter Roberts, who co-owns Canadian-based Double R Performance with his brother, Raymond. The next stop for the quad Mercury Racing 450R outboard engine-powered 39-footer is Boyne City for this weekend’s happening.
“This boat is totally over the top,” Peter Roberts said. “It’s color-matched to their new Ford F-150 truck—we painted each entire engine Ford-gray.”
The first Nor-Tech the couple bought was a pre-owned 36-foot sterndrive-powered catamaran. They followed that up with a new 390 Sport with triple Mercury Racing 350SCi outboards.
Hull No. 400, this Nor-Tech 390 Sport center console, is going to a good home.
But yesterday’s Nor-Tech 390 Sport center console delivery isn’t the first milestone delivery for Double Performance. In 2019, the dealership delivered 390 Sport No. 100. Roberts estimates that the dealership has sold 50-plus 39-footers.
“It’s been a great product to sell,” he said. “We have dedicated our adult lives to Nor-Tech and Nor-Tech has dedicated a lot to us, just as our clients have dedicated a lot to us. It’s good to be involved in a system that is this successful and has delivered so much fun and joy to so many people.”
