Diorio And Jamniczky ‘Rollin’ Into Key West With First-Year Backer

As Super Cat-class team owner Vinnie Diorio can attest, full-season sponsors aren’t easy to come by in the offshore powerboat racing world. Diorio, who owns the Rollin Transport trucking company and lives in Wisconsin with his wife, Danielle, and their children, has competed in the Super Cat ranks since late 2019. But only this season did he and second-year teammate Matt Jamniczky snag Kentucky-headquartered Austin Homes as its their first major backer in their 39-foot Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats catamaran powered by twin Sterling Performance engines.

With the sponsorship in place in time for Midwest Challenge in August and the team re-dubbed Austin Homes/Rollin Transport, Diorio and Jamniczky put on a high-flying show for their new backer during the second-year event in Sheboygan, Wis. Next week, the team heads to the three-race—Wednesday, Friday and Sunday—Race World Offshore Key West World Championships.

“We are eager to have main sponsor Tom Austin from Austin Homes also joining us all week to embrace the Key west experience on and off the race course,” Diorio said. “We’re looking to put the Austin Homes-sponsored Outerlimits to the front.”

Though he’s buoyed by his new backer, Diorio has other reasons to feel good heading into the Key West Worlds. After two full seasons in the cockpit together, he and Jamniczky are getting in sync. They tested last Friday.

“We worked really hard on setup and balance,” Diorio explained. “I feel like Matt and I get around that course great and we are overdue for a win. We just finished putting our fresh new Sterling Engines in today and are getting ready to fire them up. Mike (D’Anniballe) at Sterling feels he made some gains in a couple changes he made.

“All the guys are pumped and we got a good piece going into Key West,” he added. “It’s always an endurance event there and you can’t count anyone out. You’ve got to finish all three races to be in the hunt.”
