DCB Continues Event Blitz With This Week’s Lake Cumberland Poker Run

Starting with the late-February Florida Powerboat Club-hosted Miami Boat Show Poker Run in which two new catamarans from DCB Performance Boats took center stage—Mauricio and Angie Vivanco’s M44 Widebody and Greg Harris and Yvonne Alemán’s M37R Widebody—the team at the El Cajon, Calif., company, namely Tony Chiaramonte and Jeff Johnston, have been delivering boats and supporting customers at events around the country.

A little more than a week ago, they were in Central Missouri for the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout and Super Cat Fest, and starting tomorrow, they are going to be in Kentucky for the 16th annual Lake Cumberland Poker Run hosted by State Dock Marina in Jamestown. Before those late-summer gatherings—two of the most popular events in the country—Chiaramonte or Johnston (or both) attended poker runs in New York (1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run), South Carolina (Hartwell Lake Charity Run), Texas (Texas Outlaw Challenge), California (Big Cat Poker Run) and Arizona (Desert Storm Poker Run).

“I always enjoy going to the Lake Cumberland Poker Run—the lake and the people are a lot of fun,” Johnston explained. “We’re a sponsor of the event and we’ll have two M37Rs participating. It should be a great event.”

Johnston said that Alabama’s Stephen and Kelly Marino are going be on hand in Unexpected, their twin Mercury Racing 450R engine-powered 37-footer that they took of delivery of in April during the Desert Storm Poker Run in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Joining the Marinos, New York performance boater Ken Lalonde is planning to do the run with his sons, Jacob and Joshua, in the family’s beautiful blue M37R Widebody also powered by a pair of 450-hp Mercury Racing engines.

Hopeful that the true-tunnel 37-foot cats will attract some serious attention like the company’s first M33R Widebody did four years ago when Chiaramonte and Johnston took the twin Mercury Racing Verado 400R-powered 33-foot cat to the 2018 Lake Cumberland Poker Run.
