Crypto Outerlimits Headed For A Big Season With New Owner – Speed on the Water
Well-known in performance-boating circles for not just his ever-rotating fleet of exotic V-bottoms and catamarans but his wild generosity to charitable causes, Chuck Stark is embarking on yet another ownership adventure. The affable South Carolinian has purchased Crypto, a canopied SV 43 sportboat from Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats in Bristol, R.I.

“Dan Kleitz at Outerlimits called me last Friday morning and we made a deal,” Stark explained. “I am flying up there tomorrow to run it.
“I bought the boat, the truck, the trailer, the whole thing,” he added, then laughed. “I sold my Outerlimits (SC 37) cat to Jeff Hoefling.”
The 2018 model-year 43-footer, which was painted by Stephen Miles Design in Owensboro, Ky., is powered by Mercury Racing 1550/1350 engines with 20 operating hours. Stark said he is already making plans for the 2024 event season, starting with the Joey Gratton Memorial New Year’s Day Fun Run in Sarasota, Fla.
“Plans, man do we have plans,” he said. “We’re going to put some hours on it.”
Following the Gratton event, Stark will run the famed V-bottom in the Florida Powerboat Club Miami Boat Show Poker Run, the Desert Storm Poker Run in Arizona, Kentucky’s Kuttawa Cannonball Run, the Hartwell Lake Charity Run in his home state, the Boyne Thunder Poker Run in Michigan and the 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run in Upstate New York. After tackling the Florida Powerboat Club Emerald Coast Poker Run in September, he’ll finish his season with the club’s signature Key West Poker Run.
“We’ll do some Fort Myers Offshore events for some winter fun, too,” said Stark. “We have a second home there.
“We’re going to see how it goes,” he continued. “We might even put in a few runs before those.”
Said Stark, “I bought the boat, the truck, the trailer, the whole thing.”
