Cowboy, Indian And Stowaway On Board For 2024 Poker-Run Article Series

A dairy farmer from Upstate New York, Kelly O’Hara is the cowboy. An Indiana-based businessman whose parents came from India, Kiran Pinisetti is the Indian. Together, they own a DCB Performance Marine M37R dubbed Cowboy And Indian.

For six events this season, the author will ride along for the ride with Kelly O’Hara and Kiran Pinisetti in Cowboy and Indian, their 37-foot DCB catamaran. Photo from the 2203 Lake Cumberland Poker Run by Pete Boden copyright Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.

And starting next month with the Super Cat Fest West and Desert Storm events in Arizona, they plan to take the twin Mercury Racing 500R outboard engine-powered, 2023-model-year 37-footer on an extensive poker-run tour.

“I purchased the Poker Run Palooza Package at Lake of the Ozarks Super Cat Fest Charity Auction last August, which included Desert Storm, the Kuttawa Cannonball Run, the Texas Outlaw Challenge, Boyne Thunder, the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Poker Run, the Pirates of Lanier Poker Run, the Lake Powell Challenge, the Florida Powerboat Club Key West Poker Run more,” O’Hara explained. “So we are trying to attend as many of those events as we can, as well as a few others.”

On added-event side, O’Hara and Pinisetti plan to run the cat in the Hartwell Lake Charity Run, the inaugural Big Bago Bet event, the 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run, the Rock the River Fun Run, the Lake Norman Poker Run, the Lake Cumberland Poker Run and the DCB Owners Regatta.

So who is the stowaway? That would be me. I’ll be joining O’Hara and Pinisetti for the Kuttawa Cannonball Run, Bago Big Bet, Boyne Thunder Poker Run, 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run, DCB Owners Regatta and Key West Poker Run to experience and chronicle a good portion of their adventure on speedothewater.com. (Yes, I volunteered for this rough assignment.)

At the Kuttawa event, I’ll even get to expand my role.

“My sister is getting married that day,” O’Hara told me when I pitched the article-series idea. “So you are going to play the part of the cowboy.”
